We forgot to mention in our previous update that whether you ordered an UpFront or FullMonty "Laser Only Kit", we have now released our UpFront 3D STL files, along with the PDFs that describe them and the PDF that describes all the Brass Axles and Rods you will need to produce. You can get a head start during the holiday season...

Or simply go to www.openantikythera.com, click on PRODUCTS, DOWNLOADS and then click on Open Antikythera and then click on the 3 dots on the right side of "UpFrontMilledBrassAxles" to download the specs of the Brass axles and Rods, "UpFront3DPrintedPartsSTL" for 3D printer files, and "UpFront3DPrintedPartsPDF" for the specs and purpose of each 3D printed file.

While all of these files are aimed (and needed) to build an UpFront unit, most will also be needed for a FullMonty unit and the few useless parts will serve as a good practice/machine tuning experience for your FullMonty Laser only kit until we release these files before April 2024.

We are happy to report that we are still on schedule as we have completed the shipment of the (Posters Only) for all backers who provided us their addresses. We are very happy with the results, and we invite you to look at what our final designs looks like.

NOTE: We still have 10 backers that have not completed their Backerkit surveys and without it, we will not be able to ship rewards to them.

Backer Lost Their Survey?

If a backer lost their survey email, or says they never received one, you can guide them to the survey recovery page! They can enter their email address to receive another survey link.

Our 3D printers are currently busy printing the 1200 standoffs required to fulfill all the backers and James and I are busy sorting all the design files and documenting each component sets. We anticipate getting our Laser cutter very busy just before year end. Preparing all custom brass axles and rods will be the most tedious task but we figure once we get started, it should move at a steady pace.

Expect another update from us in January.

Progress Report

We understand some of you may feel we don't post frequent updates and indeed, we try to minimize the noise in your inbox.

But we need to share with you where we are at this point:

I'm very happy to report that not only all keychains have been produced and shipped in time despite a failure in the Laser Chiller, but we also finalized the Poster design so we should have also no problem shipping it by our estimated deadline of December.

We also ordered and received some more 3D printers (which are already busy printing non-stop the few 3D printed parts we require) and ordered and received most raw materials we will need to fulfill.

We haven't started laser cutting the gears as we just received the raw material.

And we still have close to a 1000 Brass axles and Brass rods to produce for you.

You should expect another update from us in the new year.

BackerKit surveys are coming!

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://open-antikythera.backerkit.com.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://open-antikythera.backerkit.com/faq.

Attention backers:

We thank you for your support and your contributions to our project.  We are so excited to be TRIPLE FULLY FUNDED and we promise to be good stewards of your patronage. A few things will happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment. Here's what you need to know:

First, Kickstarter needs to transfer over the funds so we have the money to make the rewards (this can take a few weeks).

Second, we have to find out a few things from you. We’ll send out a BackerKit survey to collect this information. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email contains a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.

If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

Answering your survey help us get your rewards out to you faster. BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.
